How do I know I have a case?
Our job is to work with you to assess whether you do or don't have an actual case. By initially providing us with as many details relating to your situation as possible, we will have a better chance of evaluating whether or not you do have a case. If we determine that you do have a case, we will provide the options available to resolve the case and what the process will be. If we are not able to assist you and/or determine that you do not have a legal case, we may refer you to an appropriate agency or organization that may be better suited to handle your situation.

What should I bring to our first meeting and what should I expect?
Your relationship with your attorney is the same as those relationships that you have with other professionals and needs to be based on experience and mutual trust. The attorney-client relationship is a personal relationship and one that requires an open line of communication in order for everyone to meet our primary goal – resolving your legal issue in the most effective and efficient manner possible. We use the first meeting to get acquainted, and to determine:

  1. whether you actually do have a case and, if so,
  2. whether we are the best firm to assist you.

Bring with you everything you have related to your issue including receipts, bills, police reports, medical reports, etc. Additionally, it is best if you can spend a little time in advance of our meeting, to write down a chronological history of events and important dates involved in your situation as well as the key people involved. This will allow us to more quickly review the nature of your case when we meet.

How long will my case take to resolve?
Once we determine the best course of action for handling your case, you will be assigned a lead attorney and case team. This will be the team that works with you and will be available throughout the case process to answer questions and keep you informed as to the progress and status of your case. Just like people, every case is different. There is no way to determine the length of your case. Some cases must go through an entire trial process, which can take from weeks to months, while others can be settled out of court and require a much shorter timeframe. We will estimate for you the anticipated timeframe once we determine the best course of action and the process needed to reach the best result.

How much will it cost?
Many of the cases we handle are contingency fee based. This means our fee is determined by the outcome of your case. If we are successful in obtaining a positive result in your case, our fee is based on a percentage of the award.
